I am a 1997 graduate of Poteau High School, which makes my old
teachers feel even older now that I am working with them. . I
received my Associate’s of Arts from Carl Albert State College
in 1998 and a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Education from
Northeastern State University in 2001. I began my teaching
experience at Wister Public Schools in the fall of 2001. For
five years, I taught English in the junior high and high
school. I was also the yearbook sponsor. After teaching a
year, I began taking graduate classes at East Central University
and finished my Masters of Education Degree-Library Media
Specialist in 2004.
Currently,
I am the Poteau High School librarian. In addition, I teach a
library science course. I am also the sponsor for the Poteau
High School Mat Maids.
My husband, Kevin,
and I have a two and a half year old son, Brett. I have an
older sister and a younger brother. Most of my free time is
spent with Brett, who constantly insists on playing ball or
playing with his trucks and tractors.
